I'm amazed that this topic has thrived, albeit in an ever-evolving way. I'm of the opinion that if you are a religious person who despises gay couples, you really need to prioritize your problems. Poverty, hate... These issues are the really important ones, rather than Leslie and Jill getting married...

random point-out... Leslie can either be a guy name or a girl name... But yeah, priorities are important. Not many people will acknowledge that actively

yeah, but that's the thing about religion. it doesn't have to make sense.

It seems to me that the only real argument that anti-same-sex marriage advocates entertain is a religious-based one. So, my question is this; Without using religion, can anyone here explain to me why homosexual men and women should not get married? To be honest i've been wondering that too. Most people who try to answer that say It's unnatural and God says it's wrong. but they never give a good reason. --But shouldn't this be with the other Homosexual topic? We were having a good run at that one. though this title would work better than the old one as The Anglican Church has left the basic idea of the posts. Moved posts to this thread

Yeah whatev. SO... anywho, back on topic! Well, refering back to Tim's arguement in the Free Will posting, and many pro- gay- marriage people as well (it's just part of who they are), If they are truly stuck gay, why should it be counted as either a good thing or a bad thing? It's just inevitable. You're stuck grossing other people out and being puppets to the unknown puppeteer and you just think your doing it because you want to, or maybe you don't want to but you are because you don't think you can be straight... yeah, I don't know if you guys can tell I'm against it, but I find it rather disturbing. Either it's choice, in which case you need your head examined because who would want that, or it's a sick manipulation by a being that most of the gay/pro- gays don't even bother acknowledging. Anybody else see the issue with that? or have any better suggestions?

Some people are genetically predisposed while in the womb to be homosexual. For example, my mother grew up alongside a gay relative of mine and has known him since he was born. Ever since he was young (even in infancy), he was vastly more effeminate (according to our socially constructed views on sexuality) than other boys his age. He never "chose" to be gay (although some women and men do), but he nevertheless ended up that way. I've met him and he's actually a funny and good human being.

I would guess that GAY people would prefer it. I never saw the problem. I've had gay people around me for most of my life and they are just people. Whether it is their choice or not doesn't really make a difference in the end. The guy likes guys or the girl likes girls. I've got a cute Asian chick as my girlfriend. A hundred years ago that would be taboo. If she were Black then even fifty years ago there would be an uproar. Who a person loves is not all that important in the end. What is important is that they can love. And think of the good part! Gay people don't (usually) reproduce! if they do want a kid they have to adopt one and that cuts the whole too-many-people-on-earth problem down even more

Yeah, yeah I see your point. But yeah... Whatev. I suppose I can't be too judgemental... I've always been of the opinion of kill 'em all and let God sort it out... sometimes quite literally. I suppose if I can go homicidal on ya'll they can go and have their woohoo however they want. Just don't drag me into it.

I've always been of the opinion of kill 'em all and let God sort it out... sometimes quite literally. Be careful not to let anger take over your life; I would hate to see you or anyone else here become a fanatic. Remember; A path of hate leads to a house of bitterness.
