Like the title says, this is the thread for posting any and all opinions about future Batman film sequels...Whether it's about casting, film scores, whatever floats your boat, or sinks your sub...

[shadow=purple,left,300]Well, I figure I may as well cast the villains while I'm here.
The Joker- Crispin Glover, Paul Bettany, Adrien Brody.
Two-Face- Liev Schreiber, Clive Owen, Guy Pearce, Jude Law.
The Riddler- Hugh Laurie, Jude Law.
Mr. Freeze- Ben Kingsley
Catwoman- Angelina Jolie, Carrie Ann Moss.
The Penguin- Jim Broadbent
Poison Ivy- Julianne Moore, Kate Beckinsale.
Killer Croc- Ron Pearlman[/shadow]

The Joker I'm confident that Adrien Brody, Tim Roth, Johnny Depp, and Jude Law could pull it off. I'm warming up to the ideas of Paul Bettany and Christopher Eccleston. My own personal choice, however, that is simply fan wishing is Russell Crowe. A very left field choice, I know, but his villanous role in Virtuosity is the most Joker-like character I've ever seen on film (for the record, Tim Roth's Pumpkin in Pulp Fiction is second and, from what I've seen of it, Adrian Brody's psycho in Oxygen is third). He's not only a sadistic psychopath, but he has a hint of charm, a dash of the maniacal and unpredictable, and a whole lot of hyper energy. There are so many moments in Virtuosity that scream Joker, from taunting the hero (played by Denzel Washington, btw) with lines like "You've lost your sense of humor" to quickly changing moods during a hostage situation (he smiles in glee as a few of his victims scream and then, out of nowhere, turns angry and yells "SHUT UP!!!!") to making every violent act of his seem humorous ("This program may not be suitable for young children" as he takes over a television station) to hysterically laughing in the most dangerous and precarious of situations to even running around in a purple suit for the middle section of the movie. I loved his performance and, whatever his personal problems are, he's fully capable of bringing the Joker to life.

I'm dying to see some new villains show up. Granted I do want to see the Joker and Twoface again, but I still would love to see The Mad Hatter, or Clayface make apperances. Also I can't wait to see the Scarecrow make a return. Picture Willem Dafoe as Mad Hatter. That is unless they go for the stricter to the comics version and make him short.

My guess would be '08 because of the proposed Spiderman sequel; it might be the year that two of the greatest franchises go head-to-head at the box office...Here's hoping that Batman beats Spiderman... What...Catwoman...Movie? ( [glow=red,2,300] [/glow])

On www.batman-on-film.com/jettsmainpage.html, there is a "Bat Poll" on the left (scroll down) for actors to play Harvey Dent. My personal choice that is on the poll is Rufus Sewell. He has an undeniable intense quality in his looks as well as his acting. This intensity is key, IMO, in looking for an actor for Harvey Dent. He's also British actor who can fake a pretty good, dark American accent (kinda like Christian Bale and Cillian Murphy). I noticed Rufus Sewell in Dark City, a film whose screenplay was co-written by David Goyer. Sewell gives the hero a dark edge that really makes you wonder whether or not he IS the killer that the villains say he is. He's like a volcano ready to explode, yet on the outside he still passes for a nice guy. This duality is essential, IMO. The film is also worth watching as a pre-Matrix science fiction film that makes you think about your reality. There's also some Batman elements: the architecture of the city could pass for Gotham, the dark color palatte, and Sewell's character gains a friend in the police department (William Hurt) and a faithful wife (Jennifer Connelly), both of which kind of reminded me of Jim Gordon and Gilda Dent respectively. Physically, I think he's perfect. He looks exactly like Tim Sale's Dent, more so than Liev Schreiber, IMO. The eyes, the curly hair, the squarish features, not to mention the brown trenchcoat. www.serenadawn.com/RufusSewell.jpgwww.vacuumboy9.com/tlh/7p15.jpgwww.vacuumboy9.com/tlh/13p23.jpgHe's handsome, somewhat admired by women in Britain. I personally think he's better looking than Liev Schreiber, but that might not mean much coming from a very heterosexual male. Anyways, I think Dent's great "Apollo" looks is key to make his scarring even more traumatic. Lookwise, however, his eyes really bring out the intense edge in his characters. It's basically that look that you can't really tell what's going on in that brain of his. He's acting nice, but from looking at him, you get the sense that inside, he feels much much different. He is in his late '30's but looks very much like he can pass for a contemporary of Bale. This is also key in my opinion. I'd love to see Harvey and Bruce be best friends like in the animated series. To me, it would look quite believable to show Rufus and Christian as friends. For future reference, he'll be the villain in the upcoming The Legend of Zorro movie. For the record, my second choice is Liev Schreiber and my third is Clive Owen.

Thanks.
How would you guys like to see the characters protrayed? There are so many different interpretations of all of them? What traits should an actor show that make him qualified to be a candidate for the character?
Discuss any character...although I'd prefer reading about Joker or Two-Face since Goyer has admitted that he wants to use both of them soon.
