Split from: Bruce+Wayne+Will+Die
They're actually going to do it... But do you know what's worse? They're going to re-do the numbering system... I say allow his adopted son Richard Grayson take over; he's already proven that he can handle it, and when he grows too old to continue, allow Tim Drake to take his place before Damian.

Jason. They tried using Dick in the 90's with the Progidal storyline, it just didn't work for me. since Damian's too young I have to say Jason, he's not quite as smart as Dick, but he's more brutal. & that's a quality I think the new Batman would need.

Hey, as long as he doesn't start killing hoodlums, I'm fine with that. I guess that's what sets Batman apart from, say, The Punisher; his respect for human life.

I'm fine with Batman maiming, etc. but I draw the line at killing random thugs. Or even main villians purposfully for no good reason. The only time I found the prospect of murder to work was in Hush. When he went into a blind rage after finding The Joker over the body of Tom Elliot.

I agree; to me, that's kind of like Batman's "service agreement" for working with him. As a writer, I would love to see him use a gun once in order to disarm rather than kill a suspect... Kind of like when Simon Pegg shot the doctor in "Hot Fuzz" before adding "You're a doctor; deal with it." ;D Exactly; I guess he just has to pick and choose his battles. Although, to me, since Tom Elliot was a newly introduced character (despite in-universe, "he had known Bruce his whole life") I didn't really feel too-much about it either way. Why? Because we, as a fan base, hadn't really known him that much. I guess if the target were, say, Alfred, then I would have been just as mad as he was.

I think what would've worked the best is if Catwoman had been lying dead in the alley. Although in light of the situation it probably wouldn't work.

True, it would have been difficult, but not impossible to pull off... [rant] At least Geoff Johns wasn't writing, as I throughly detest his work.[/rant]

I still find that hard to believe. The Sinestro Corps story arc was great. I haven't baught any GL issues since the late 90's when Kyle was still around.

I'll elaborate more on this post in a forked thread, but I've recently read Geoff's "Under the Hood Volume 2" TPB, and I have to say that I really enjoyed it. However, I still cringe when I read his "explanation" for how Jason Todd returned from the grave...
