I love neal adams artwork, he did make everything more grittier until frank miller did the dark knight returns So, Frank Miller = ultra gritty? ;D Anywho, the Batmobile; I think this new Batmobile looks kind of lame in that there are no real upgrades to it from any other Batmobile.

It looks like a standard Batmobile to me. The red may be to keep up with Morrison's red-and-black theme. I don't know why Batman himself would put red in it, though, other than "Grant Morrison wants me to."
I don't really mind it being non-stealthy. To me, most of the Batmobiles are not stealthy.
In my mind, the young Batman originally wanted a stealthy car and had a low-key sedan, like the one that he drove in the 1970s with the tinted windows. It's really when he needed a WAR vehicle that he decided to make some upgrades and thus, created the traditional Batmobile we have today, with the fins and all. It's less for stealthy transportation vehicle and more of another weapon against criminals, complete with bat motif to strike fear into their hearts when they see it and know who's coming...

I guess it makes a tad more sense in that context then to have a supped-up bat-themed car. You'd think that criminals would put 2 and 2 together in order to figure out that Batman's a wealthy guy...

Indeed. Or any Wayne Enterprises employee who was involved with building the prototype, if all Bruce did to it was paint it black .

Why do we have it? Mr. Wayne wanted it. What does Mr. Wayne need with 10,000 units of black primer? Do you want to know the answer to that one? Probably not... ;D

Especially about the black rubber... In terms of the power bill, I read in my Ultimate Guide to the Dark Knight book that the Bat Cave is powered off of a fusion generator so that no one would get suspicious about his energy needs...

A fusion generator? wouldn't people notice the boiling hot (no cooling towers sticking out of the Wayne Manor, right?) radioactive water with it's mutant fish nearby? And the house must set off every Geiger counter in the city!
