I realize that I haven't seen what Ledger can do yet, but when it comes to the Joker for me, I have to go with... Cesar Romero. I absolutely loved him in the 60's TV show, and there's a particular scene in Batman: The Movie where he makes his eyes bulge out at Commodore Schmidlap that never ceases to unnerve me. His laugh is also my favorite, because it can vocally run the gamut between light and cheerful and dark and mysterious.
Which is your favorite and why?

Definately Heath. I was never a fan of Nicholson, & as much as I enjoy Ceasar's Joker, he just isn't the Joker for me. From what little I've seen of Heath he's just embodied the character. When I'm watching him I don't even remember who it is, it's just like "Jesus H! It's The Joker!"

Very poor choice of words!" made me laugh as much as it amazed me. I guess I enjoy Romero alongside Ledger because, I admit, that I enjoy both pre and post "Crisis" versions... (Although with the former it's only to a certain degree)

I chose Cesar because he just had just a little bit more clown than madman in him, that and with the darker Joker that we see currently having that cheery voice and delivery with what he does just would be something that would unnerve so many people... acting sinisterly but being cheerful about it.

I'm split between Romero and Ledger, with my favorite line of Romero's being from his first appearance as the Joker and my favorite line of Ledger's being from the trailer showing him dropping Rachael Dawes.
