My thanks to Superhero Hype! for the following confirmed casting information:
Matthew Goode as Adrian Veidt/Ozymandias Jackie Earle Haley as Rorschach Billy Crudup as Dr. Manhattan Patrick Wilson as Nite Owl Malin Ackerman as Silk Spectre.
The more and more I read about the direction of this film, the more I'm excited to see it as a fan. To be honest, this is my favorite comic book of all time (#2 Batman: Year One, and #3 Superman: Red Son), and I dreaded seeing made poorly.

Well, Zack Snyder ("300") is directing, so I have faith in this...

www.superherohype.com/news/watchmennews.php?id=6056Confirms all of the above and to add to the list: Jeffrey Dean Morgan as The Comedian I'm only familiar with a handful of these actors: I'm not a Billy Crudup fan by any means, but I think he could probably pull it off. Certainly better than the Keanu Reeves news awhile back. I've only seen Patrick Wilson in The Phantom of the Opera. He was alright. I think he'll do okay. I've only seen Morgan in a couple episodes of Grey's Anatomy. Decent actor. I had a better time picturing some of the past rumors though (for example, I really liked the idea of Thomas Jane). All in all, I'm going to wait and see, but I'm hoping that I'll be seeing these actors in a more positive light when I see their performances. I have faith in Snyder, after 300, to not screw around with the characters and story (like in other Alan Moore adaptations that have ticked off the comic book writer). I think that an adaptation of Watchmen, however, is going to be a lot more difficult to pull off than an adaptation of 300. I think Snyder knows this as well as the fact that he'll never hear the end of it from fans if he screws up. If he nails this one, though, it could be the greatest comic book film yet, in my opinion.

Latest addition to the cast is Carla Gugino (Sin City) as Sally Jupiter. I also read that it was revealed at Comic Con that Stephen McHattie (the thin, older Spartan "Loyalist" councilman in 300) would be playing the ex-Nite Owl, Hollis Mason.

I managed to nab a fairly recent copy of the script from a fan site until WB took it down. The plot is quite faithfull, & all the characters are portrayed well. The only problem is the ending. Instead of Dr. M & Laurie teleporting into NYC & seeing millions of bodies & a giant squid they see nothing at all. & Adrian frames Dr. M for it. Now, I haven't finished the comics yet so I'm not sure if Adrian did pin it on Dr. M or if this is pure BS. btw. If anyone wants to read it & can't track it down online, I'll scan my copy & send it via email. It unfortunately got deleted
