With the last Batman film titled The Dark Knight, it would make logical sense to have the sequel titled The Dark Knight Returns.
What do you think?

It'd make a great title, but I've got a problem with the name, even though it doesn't have a popsicle's chance in Hell, I've always wanted to see an adaptation of DKR, & if Nolan uses that title, then he's totally melted my popsicle.

Good point; what about a compromise? DC could make a direct-to-DVD film based on DKR that could potentially be R-rated and not infringe on the theatrical film continuity.

but he never left Gotham...he's still there now he's just seen as a murderer...He has to leave for him to "return"...I still say "The Caped Crusader" would be good cause it means now during or after that film the city now can trust him

I like the "Caped Crusader" idea (especially because the prima-ballerina makes a mention of it when Harvey and Bruce meet for the first time). I'm going to be stubborn on one thing for a while though; the only credible threat that would force Batman to aid law enforcement would be if more people emulated the Joker. What's worse than one Joker? Hundreds, led by another warped individual named Black Mask.

I like the idea of Arkham playing a central role, but I don't think Batman has enough villains to make that interesting at the time of writing this.

I'm all for "The Caped Crusader" but I think that would be better suited for a non-Nolan film. When I hear that name I think of a more vibrant and flashy Bat-world. A perfectly balanced mosiac of the gothic and gritty with the fantastic and colorful. It lies somewhere between Joel Schumacher and Tim Burton. I think something more like "Shadow of the Batman" would work. Then again, I think the title will come out of left field like Batman Begins did.

Makes sense; I find it humorous that Hollywood now uses the "Begins" line for pitching new films. Shadow of the Bat/Batman would be a great way to tie in to the now-defunct monthly title of the same name.
