In Batman Begins, the feature was soaked in sepia and earthy colors to accent Nolan's vision of a more realistic Batman. In The Dark Knight, there are extraordinary amounts of blue in various locales.
These aforementioned colors correspond with the contents of the film. If you had to pick a color for the "theme" of the The Dark Knight sequel, what would it be and why? My choice would be red; red for the blood that will be spilled by a foe dangerous enough for the GCPD to ask for Batman's help.
