I don't mean that negatively; I just don't want The Dark Knight, the "Godfather Part II of comic films" to end with a "Godfather Part III" of comic films

If they can get Nolan and everyone else back and they keep the tone... it'll be awesome...the villain is another thing...from what I keep reading and hearing about Leger's acting...the next villain will have to be just as good

Personally, I'd love to see a sort of "escalation of escalation" where someone else becomes inspired by the chaos and terror created by the Joker and decides to put their own spin on things; enter, the False Face Society of Black Mask.

Now that's a great idea Tim! I'd love to see Black Mask in action. What else'd be cool is if they brought in some second string villians like the Ventriloquist, & KG Beast, & King Snake, & The Penguin, etc. They wouldn't have to take center stage, they could do it like Mr. Zsaz in Begins. I think scenes much like Batman vs. The Scarecrow & fake Bats, would work well with these guys, albiet different.
It's gonna be REALLY hard to top TDK, especially since we won't have Ledger back. So Nolan needs to really bring on the villians. But it's quality over quantity, i need to remember that.

Now that's a great idea Tim! I'd love to see Black Mask in action. Since Nolan did a little bit of social commentary with both Batman Begins (being poor doesn't make you a criminal, but crime can create poverty) and The Dark Knight (Security over freedom gives you neither option), I'd love to see something along the lines of "blind faith begets slavery." My reasoning for this is that the polarization of American politics, for example, makes people subvert their own opinions to, say, "blue" or "red" agendas, respectively. Beyond the two-party system, it is evident that in the wake of the "Ron Paul Revolution," many impressionable youth (myself included) can fall sway to powerfully-worded, yet unattainable, ideological abstractions. This is not to say that I do not believe in the goodness of the human race; I am, however, worried about people joining a larger congregation of like-minded individuals while subverting identity, reasoning and judgment. To me, Black Mask is (or was) one of Batman's greatest foes; his charisma inspired legions of followers willing to lay their lives on the line for an ideal; basically, they were the costumed "Borg" of the DC Universe. He's not insane by any means, but he is not one to underestimate by any means. I'd love to at least see their names on Arkham inmate ( ;D ) signs, like "Maxwell Zeus" or "Arnold Wesker" What about having certain Batman second-tier villains as hired muscle? Like KGBeast working for "The Russian"? Or, King Snake working for the Triads?
