Since The Long Halloween was a major influence of The Dark Knight, my thinking is that Nolan and Co. will use Dark Victory for the sequel... If Robin is to appear, then this will be essential for the sequel due to writer Jeph Loeb's transition from Batman being a lone vigilante to that of a mentor to a young ward.

Dark Victory is a great source for what would be going on in Bruce's head after Dent's transformation into Two-Face. I have my doubts they'll do Robin, but I love how, in that story, Batman starts off having lost a valuable ally and, by the end, gains an unexpected new one.
I'd also like to see the Dark Victory influence in the "rise of the freaks." I know that The Dark Knight has a lot of mob bosses (and I don't know which ones will survive by the end, haha), but I can see how Joker's actions in the film would inspire other freaks to rise up and take over. I could see Penguin and Black Mask as the new "freak mob bosses," with maybe Killer Croc thrown in as an enforcer (or wanting to make his own mob, like in Batgirl: Year One).

I read an interesting article online about how the Mad Hatter is one of the top 5 worst Batman villains. While I personally didn't agree with it, it made me wonder how you could have the Alice In Wonderland motif without doing mind-control.

the whole mind-control thing could be great...half or a whole city under control of one deranged madman...and Batman has to face him alone...or maybe with help from a certain acrobat??

That would be awesome... The first and only time I'd like to see giant props. Although, with the whole Mad Hatter theme, I would hope that the sets would be distorted as well

Even though he's living in Wonderland it should still suit the dark world of Gotham.
