Split from: When+Batman+Meets+Batman...^ I don't think it exists as an actual Elseworlds comic...yet. Perhaps we should write it ;D Another thing that may be interesting is if you take the entire Earth Two Batman take on it and establish that the dark Shadow-like vigilante from 1939 was who the 1950s-1960s adventurerer USED to be. How would he feel about that when encountering someone like All-Star Batman or, to some extent, the Michael Keaton Batman as an altered reflection of his past? I'd imagine he'd somewhat try to set the other Batman straight, but I'm not sure how successful he'd be, haha. In the film The Dark Knight, The Batman is both embraced and reviled by Gothamites for taking the law into his gloved hands. If the citizens of Gotham become used to his prescence and subsequent results, could they become addicted to his vigilantism in place of the judicial system?

It's very much possible and if rival vigilantes, like Deadshot and Huntress, come into play, they may be all too eager to support them rather than, like Batman, be cautious about them and their true intentions.

Wait, Deadshot's a vigilante now? I guess I'm so used to him being a straight-up villain that the idea of him fighting crime seems strange. Hell, if Gotham has any more vigilantes, I think it would plunge into No Man's Land again, sans earthquake... Personally, I'd love to see that sort of thing play out in the comics; pure anarchy like the kind that the Joker perpetrates in The Dark Knight, and with all manner of costumed heroes and psychopaths attempting to display their brand of justice/injustice in the "wild east" of Gotham

Yeah, in all out war ground. Will there be any normal people left? Well, not now, but in his first appearance, I mean.

Yeah, in all out war ground. Will there be any normal people left? In Gotham, what is normal? Especially with the release of the Harvey Dent Year One story where Two-Face runs for D.A. and argues that an arbitrary system is better than the corruption of Gotham's judiciary. Well, not now, but in his first appearance, I mean.[/quote] Oh, okay!

Ahh, good question.
By "normal," I meant the non-costumed characters, like Jim Gordon and his family or Alfred, but then again, I could see how an everyday Gothamite civilian can become insane in the context of the world you described.

That's why I'm loving the "Citizens For Batman" plot element in The Dark Knight. A bunch of well-meaning citizens come together to fight crime, Batman gets injured and one of them ends up dead.

I'm okay with it ) IMO, they are speculation based on confirmed elements; I won't post them, but photos of several men armed with AK-47's and dressed like Batman were sitting in a parking garage with the real Batman. It wasn't a publicity photo or a candid shot; it was from the finished film. That, and a clip online from IESB features Bruce Wayne talking with Alfred about the aftermath of said encounter.
