For the past two weeks, central Michigan has been bombarded with severe-thunderstorms (including one that will arrive later today) with more lightning than I've ever seen in this area.
Yesterday, I find out that a town I used to live in (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) is almost completely flooded. I found out that had I still been living there, my family and I would have lost everything.
What's going on with our climate? Is this kind of thing happening in your area?

It's hot and sunny. it's always hot and sunny here, and there are about 14oo fires going on now too. that kinda sucks, but it's the only time we get snow in california... and the sky gets like gotham at night.

Red skies are awesome; in Michigan, the snowblind effect in winter makes the sky light up
