Split from: Stanley+KubrickI agree...I refused to see any of these "new" pink panther films...when the first came out I couldn't believe they were remaking classics...I guess studios need more money while stomping over movies that don't need to get remade...like ROBOCOP Thus far I'm looking forward to the remake because I heard that Paul Verhoven (the original director of RoboCop) would be involved. I would love to see updated technologies and satirical commercials to reflect our times. If anything, I would love it if the producers used the same (if not slightly updated in terms of comfort) design from the original films for the RoboCop suit... Some things, like the Superman costume, should never be changed.

You do not need to remake a perfect...dead or alive...I can wait to see this on dvd to see how they did it...I guess they need to redo these movies for a newer audience...but kids just rent the CENSORSHIP! dvd

As much as I want to see new satirical commercials, yeah, just watch the 20th anniversary DVD of the first film.

Ok, here's some interesting tidbits I found on BlueTights (a Superman forum) regarding this film: Here's the teaser poster for the new one:

is it me or does that poster look like it was from the same date as the original movie?

I sort of got that feeling, too. Here's my best-case scenario; Peter Weller is back (Using a body double in a prosthetic) for the voice-over, Paul Verhoven is directing, and it's set 20 years after the first film.

I can't make up my mind on this. On one hand, I loathe the idea of remaking a perfect film. But at the same time, I'd love to see what new tech would bring to it. & even if they have to recast Murphy they need to atleast have Peter Weller dub Robo-Murphy. & shooting in Houston again would be awesome. they need to do it.

I can't wait to see an Iron Man-type HUD for the Murphy visor ;D I was just telling that to my sister! Okay, here's where I need to get something off my chest. I've lived in Detroit for 5 years of my life and that city needs a boost up from a film production team. I hope that the production team will take the time to film a story about Detroit in the actual city and energize Hockey Town.
