www.dccomics.com/comics/?cm=6405^ This could get interesting... I mean you have the Joker, who's already slaughtered one Robin, and here we have another one in his hands. I doubt that DC would ever stage another media stunt like the killing of Jason Todd, because in the words of the Joker from Mask of the Phantasm, "one can never be too careful with all those weirdos around"...

This one is one of my favorite Joker stories. It can be found in the TPB called Batman: Detective, which collects the first few issues of Dini's run on Detective Comics.

Yep. You can get that and the follow-up titled "Death and the City" in softcover and there is another one coming up that I think collects all the remaining Detective Comics stories up till Heart of Hush.

Cool! I'm curious as to whether or not "Death and the City" contains the two-part tale in which Zatanna and Batman team-up to take on the Joker; I loved that story Now I feel awkward; I'm trying to get rid of my "Hush" hard covers...

^ Death in the City definitely has that. As for Hush, I don't think you have to re-read Hush Vol. 1 and 2 or anything to understand Heart of Hush and I think that Dini probably surpassed Loeb in showing the potential in the character. Dini also does not share Loeb's tendency to cram every villain into the story arc

Sounds good to me; the whole "let's pull a 'Marvel'" and cram as many characters onto a cover/into a story was not appealing to me as well. That, and I've started to lose my taste for Jim Lee's artwork after it became the de-facto Batman promotional artwork for the past 3 years
