*SPOILERS AHOY!!!*


After Infinite Crisis is all done and thru mainstream DC Comics will jump One Year Later. But what happend in that missing year? Why are things so different. Where's some of our favorite characters? 52 will answer that riddle.

52 is a weekly (yea i said it), weekly series. 52 weeks of the year with 52 issues with more creative talent that Batman can shake a batarang at! The thing is we haven't finished Infinite Crisis yet and we don't quite know what is going on in One Year Later yet. So why should 52 have any relevance yet? Issue #172 of Wizard Magazine gave some clues as to what to expect.

Now i recommend you buy Wizard b/c i'm not gonna tell you all 52 reasons they share why this series will be good. But i will run down a few highlights so we little kiddies here on DC can get our excitement built up.

Six characters will take center stage but one's not gonna last the year. The six characters are Black Adam (who might become the equilivalent of Doctor Doom), Elongated Man, Det. Renee Montoya, Steel (who's taking over for supes), Booster Gold, and The Question (who will be the new protector of Gotham when no else is, he will also be helping Montoya).

Other mentionings would be that ol' Lexxie poo (that's luthor to you) forgets diplomacy and will redifine what evil is. Luthor will also form his own JL with new guys and one familiar face.

All this may come as somewhat of a shock to you guys. (i know my jaw dropped at the Question bit). Now this thread is for Discussing the latest 52 news. Spoilers are expected so warn in advance please, there are those that love to be surprised so do respect that.

This is where you guys get excited. I urge you all to really sink your collective teeth into this subject. I also urge you to buy Wizard 172 for the whole scoop, they work hard to get the latest news so i don't want to give away all there secrets but just enough to entice you guys (and gals of course!).

Well, I can't say that I've been following any of the very recent comic storylines.

I have no idea who Black Adam or Booster Gold are. The Question as new protector of Gotham and helping Montoya? Steel taking over for Superman? That may be interesting to say the least.

Lex Luthor redefining evil? Sure, why not.

I guess it's safe to assume that something happens to Batman and Superman to casue them to be replaced by The Question and Steel. Perhaps Luthor has some involvement? Finds out their secret I.D.? I'm grasping straws here with what little I know about the current storylines.

^To fill you in somewhat... On batman at least. Growing conspiracy and revelations of his own mind being tampered with keep pushing him further. Last i heard when One Year Later starts Bats is hugging himself in Arkham so i guess whatever caused that is why he wont' be in Gotham. My only wonder is what happened to the rest of the batfamily. As for Supes. I haven't a clue.

^ Well, then it's a good thing that I'm a huge Captain Marvel fan! ;D Black Adam is the evil version of Captain Marvel (he has pointy ears like Namor "The Sub-Mariner" from Marvel Comics...In fact, he's basically Namor, minus the lame factor [sorry "True Believers"...])... with a Black costume and sporting a lightning bolt on his costume like Captain Marvel...He was briefly working as a "good guy" on the J.S.A. but decided to go back to his evil roots later on in the series...

Do you remember Blue Beetle? He was a good friend of Booster Gold, two super heroes who had no powers, but they did have fantastic technology...Gold was a hero from the 25th century who loved to learn about the heroes of the past, as he lived and worked in the future Metropolis... Quick note about Black Adam and his role in 52. We will learn more why he changes his role so often from hero to villain. From this they hope to show more of his moral beliefs and how his system of honor works.

He was part of the Society (one of the big guys ahead of it all) and he was Betrayed by Luthor and the rest. His role now is unclear until the crisis clears up but last we saw he is a captive. Reportably his new position in DCU during 52 will equate him to the DC version of Doctor Doom. Some rumors are that one DC character will gain control of his home country so one lil fan boy (i.e. me) thinks that BA is the guy. Seeing as how Dr. Doom took his land of Latvia in an iron grip (pun of course intended) so it could very well be the case. Or so i hope as his homeland has always been a crucial part in BA.

This seems interesting. I haven't really been following Infinite Crisis so I don't really know whats going on. Maybe someone could fill me in?

Does anyone know what's going on in the series right now? I have no idea at the moment, and DC's website only gives me enough to be slightly informed and still confused...
