Since art essentially showcases the plot of a comic, do you prefer illustrating the first part or the second part of a two-part series?

Was pencilling any different in the 90's than today, as far as illustrating what the writer has put down in the script?

I have several questions for Mr. Johnson;
1.) How did you get started in comics, and how has it changed your life? 2.) I am an aspiring graphic artist and illustrator interested in getting into comics. Do you have any advice for those who are just starting out? 3.) A somewhat silly question on pens; which is your preference and what type of ink do you use?
Thanks much for this opportunity! ~Harley
