IMO, this the single-greatest comic/ comic series ever written (that's including DK and the Killing Joke)...This completely changed the way that I view super-heroes, in that these are people who you are trusting your lives to and the world shouldn't be protected by a group of self-rightous individuals (if you think about it, Batman doesn't have the right to do what he does...He chooses it, but technically he shouldn't be doing it...)...

Yeah watchmen is great! Needless to say of course but i couldn't put that thing down. The entire story is just captivating and had one of the best stories i have ever read. Rorshach was so fascinating and fun to watch. He was a nut case but my favorite nut case. I love the entire plot about the you know what that was created by you know who to scare you know who else so that they would you know what and yet rorschach held his values through it all. This and V for Vendetta are hands down my favorite graphic novels.

^ Rorschach...Very creepy "superhero", but he's my favorite character of the story and I've wanted to do a "cross-over" with him and Batman working together, with Batman eventually being "weirded-out" by Rorschach and his methods; this coming from a stone-cold kind of guy like Bat's...
That, and "The Comedian"...I loved the sequences of him causing disorder during the 1st meeting with all of the heroes of the story and how, basically, the JLA of the Watchmen is full of garbage...READ THE STORY FOR MORE DETAILS...

In a nutshell it's about the exploits of some heroes trying to unravel a mystery of the murder of a former hero and stumble onto a much larger plot. In a way it humanizes hereos more than anyother story around. It's for mature reading and is quite bleak but i recommend it. It's one of my three faves.

That, and it's a great "Cold War" read in that it delved into the fears at the time (the book was written during the last years of communism)...
