^ Timothy Dalton should be arrested because he's a slasher. Of prices.
I'm also looking forward to this film. Craig is already one of my favorite Bonds and Casino Royale was one of my favorite Bond movies. I saw a pic on IMDB of Mr. White with his wounded leg and I can't help but smile.
As for the other Bonds- Roger Moore, in my opinion, could have played the now-popular, ruthless Bond if the script called for it more often. Granted, he didn't have the dark look that Dalton and Craig had nor did he have the physical presence that Connery had, but I really think he could've pulled it off. The interrogation scene in The Man With The Golden Gun where he threatens to shoot the guy's crotch off or the scene in For Your Eyes Only where he kicks the helpless villain's car off the cliff come to mind. It's a shame he wasn't used to his full potential.
I also think Dalton's Bond had a similar characterization to Craig, except Dalton was a lot softer towards the women and I think Craig is a better actor.

Karma for you and a new memorable member quotes addition as well ;D Every time I think of Mr. White, I unintentionally say "Willard White speaking" with an accent from Diamonds Are Forever And what about the pre-Connery Bond? I can't remember his name, but even Dalton was better than him...

Hahaha, I never thought of that, but good point.
BLASPHEMY! BARRY NELSON WAS THE GREATEST BOND TO WALK THE EARTH!
I'm kidding, of course. The main problem was that, for American TV, they decided to change Bond into an American agent called "Card Sense Jimmy Bond." With changes to the character like that, I don't think any actor would have stood a chance.
The writing, in general, just was not up to par to say the least. For what was probably the shortest Bond "film" (clocking in at around an hour or so), it managed to be pretty boring.

I highly doubt they'd do that; the series is moving more towards realism (whatever that means for the Bond franchise)...

Anyone else see the trailer?
I love the main shot of the man alone with the same gun from the end of Casino Royale. I'm predicting that that image will be as tied to Craig as Bond's white tux from Goldfinger was tied to Connery.

Just saw it, and I'm pleasantly surprised that it isn't going to go in the direction of absurdity like the series did in the 60's.

Personally i find the attempt at continuity between all the series pretty bad if they were going to do Casino Royale they should have recast everyone instead of Keeping the same M as they had previously since it makes no sense to have his first mission to have more modern technology than he had in Dr. No, then again i am somewhat partial to Woody Allen and David Niven as James Bond.

Poor, loose continuity has been a staple of Bond films. ;D Personally I like how each one is a bit of a standalone, though I think it would have been interesting if they tried to make Casino Royale a prequel to Dr. No.
