I've liked the GL's too, though I can't say much for their latest attempt on JLU...he looked better w/out the beard. ^ I guess that the writers wanted the John Stewart version to become "edgier" (like Grishom on "C.S.I"), and thus, they added the facial hair... I know; that = incredibly lame

and why does he have no pupils or iris's or any thing in his eye ^ I guess it has to do with "the power of Green Lantern flowing within him" (see; "Obi-Wan Kenobi & Luke Skywalker", Episode IV: A New Hope)...

I think it looks kind of stupid. It would look better if he had EYES ^ Tell that to the writers... Sometimes, you just run out of ideas and before long, your series is cancelled...

Maybe the writers should have gone and made Supes into the Red Sun version while they were at it. LOL

Now this is interesting...It's from www.dccomics.com/comics/?cm=4823 ^ I recently read the aforementioned Green Lantern: Rebirth (my thanks go out to DC's KGBeast for loaning me the issues! ;D ) issue(s) with Batman, and I didn't enjoy how Batman was written. I realize that he is the shadowy, borderline-evil, cloaked fear-ingesting creature that he is, but I didn't like how (IMO) DC once again played the "Hal Jordan Is Perfect & Can Do No Wrong" trump card when it came to his characterization... That's probably why I could never get into the Green Lantern comics growing up... The only one that I really enjoyed was an issue from the early 1970's in which he learns several valuable lessons from Green Arrow regarding him and his prejudices towards African Americans... The story was called "No Evil Shall Escape My Sight!" BTW...

I agree with you DH. I read the comics and I thought that Hal Jordan was WAY too overrated. I have thought this ever since I began reading GL.

I have thought this ever since I began reading GL. ^ I don't like how DC has basically placed Hal on a pedastal when it comes to his characterization; "he's the best Green Lantern..." "He's the greatest of them all..." "There'll never be another one like him"...Geez; no wonder Sinestro left the Corps...

"Kilowog, Tomar Re, Salakk, all of them more powerful and more accomplished, but they are just power ring fodder compared to Hal" < my interpritation of the stupid GL writers.
